Though Virginia was largely spared (there is moderate flooding and Metro Richmond had a tornado outbreak) from the effects of Hurricane Florence, North Carolina is still reeling from the devastation of this storm. Legacy Church has a team that is collecting the following items this week to take to hurricane victims. Please bring the following items to:
RTS Trucking, 104 Business Park Circle, Unit 1, Ruckersville
First Aid Items
Legacy also partners with the SBCV and their Disaster Relief Efforts.
Here is their current action plan:
"On Sunday, two more teams will leave for NC. We anticipate that SBCV DR teams will continue to respond in the weeks, even months ahead, with both chainsaw and flood recovery teams.
There will be opportunities for non-credentialed workers to respond in the weeks ahead. Send Relief volunteers will be integrated into Disaster Relief teams once the situation permits. For your church members to respond as a Send Relief volunteer, they need to complete the online portion of DR training (about 2 ½ hours) that covers the basics of a DR response including safety. They can access the training for free by clicking here, be sure to use the coupon code SBCVDR on the training site.
Please be in prayer for the teams as they go and serve, for other responders, and for the survivors of this storm. If you would like to donate to SBCV Disaster Relief, click here.
All of these funds will be used for the current response, for future responses, and for equipment to ensure that we can continue to respond bringing the Name of Christ to those impacted by disaster."
Legacy Church will also be collecting gift cards (from Walmart, Sam’s Club, Lowes, and Home Depot) to be distributed to those in need. Remember, these gift cards allow the survivors to purchase items they need and the dignity of making the purchase themselves.
Checks and gift cards can be brought to the Welcome Center on Sunday, to the Legacy Church Office or sent to:
