EXPLORING THE
LEGACY OF CHRIST.
God has seen fit to bless our church with a rich array of families and family types. Given the diversity of family situations (healthy, broken, nuclear, single-parent, extended, blended, foster, etc.) as well as our desire to impact to the family unit, we feel that investment in families should be a key focus of our church.
How do we fulfill this?
Pioneer Kids! On Sunday morning we provide an intentional age-appropriate environment for kids of all ages to explore the legacy of Jesus Christ. More details below!
Connect parents and families to biblical community. We create positive environments for parents to be able to safely express their challenges and victories with others who understand and have experience as a parent. We do this through Groups, events, and occasional Sunday lunches.
Resource parents with practical tools to disciple their children. Parents will be encouraged in the discipleship of their family on a weekly basis through Pioneer Kids' "picture cards" and the Sunday sermon. Also, we have regular serving opportunities and most of them are chosen in a way that allows families to serve together.
Coach parents to think with the end in mind. Right from the beginning we want to start new parents out thinking with the end in mind. Not so much WHAT they want their child to become, but WHO do they want their child to become?
In an effort to reach these four objectives, we believe when the church and the family strategically work together, they can have a greater impact on a child's spiritual growth than working alone.
SUNDAY MORNING.
On Sunday morning our Pioneer Kids gather for Large Group worship and teaching, followed by Small Group discussion. All Pioneers Kids’ Groups use the same curriculum by Lifeway called The Gospel Project which immerses kids and preschoolers in the gospel through every story, theological concept, and call to mission from Genesis to Revelation. Ultimately, the gospel message changes everything; heart transformation can only take place when a child experiences the gospel. Through The Gospel Project, kids and preschoolers will understand the Bible is not just a collection of stories, but one unified story—God’s story of redemption.
After Pioneer Kids, children transition to Student Life for Middle and High School where they continue their journey through The Gospel Project.
Baptism.
Baptism is going public about your faith in Jesus and communicating to the world your heart-felt commitment to following Him. A Baptism does not save you or make you a Christian. Salvation is received by placing your faith in Christ’s death and resurrection alone for the forgiveness of your sins. It is the next step after salvation. Contact us to learn more!
Child Dedication.
Baby dedication is a commitment to raise a child in the ways of the Lord. This dedication is not a statement of salvation for the child, but rather a statement of how the parents will raise their child. It should be done with a community of believers who know you personally and can commit to walking with you in this commitment. Contact us for more information.
